8:31 a.m. ET UPDATE: Austin Smotherman won the Butterfield Bermuda Championship on the third hole of a sudden-death playoff Monday morning at Port Royal Golf Course, edging out Seamus Power. The win was Smotherman’s second PGA Tour title this month, following his victory at the Bank of Utah Championship.

We tracked the playoff in the live blog below.

Nae wind, nae golf, the Scots like to say.

Turns out the opposite can also hold true. Too much wind, nae golf.

Such has been the case at the PGA Tour’s Butterfield Bermuda Championship at Port Royal GC where wildly windy conditions, including gusts of up to 40 mph, led to the cancellation of the final round Sunday. None of the 72 players remaining in the field started their fourth round, and with the wind refusing to relent, the Tour decided to call it a day. The 2026 Butterfield would be a 54-hole tournament.

But it still was undecided! Because Austin Smotherman and Seamus Power were tied for the lead at 16 under. That meant the duo would return to Port Royal for — weather permitting — a Monday morning sudden-death playoff. The dual kicks off at 8 a.m. local time, which is 9 a.m. ET.
