Aston Villa is heading to North London to face off Tottenham on Saturday afternoon.
Aston Villa finally picked up another win last night in the Carabao Cup. They thumped Coventry City 3-1. Tammy Abraham scored a brace plus one goal from Ross Barkley. It might be just a victory in a domestic cup but it matters the most for Unai Emery’s men who have been winless in the Premier League. They are hoping to transmit the same positive energy and optimism when they travel to Tottenham stadium.
It is the great opportunity for John McGinn and Co to continue this positive result in CBS Arena to Spurs’s home turf. Roberto De Zerbi’s men have been in a negative form with winless runs in the last four games. Their last win was the previous round in the Carabao Cup, when they ran riot against Charlton and trashed them in 5-1 victory.
Unfortunately, they could not ease past Liverpool yesterday and were beaten 3-1. What’s worse, they were scoreless in the past two games in the Premier League too. That could give the advantage for Villa which have regained their confidence after a win over Coventry.
Their new signings who featured yesterday have displayed their positive form, including Ibrahim Mbaye, Matteo Ruggeri and Taylor Harwood-Bellis. Such would really help them to get back on winning ways in the league.
