Aston Villa new star has described his move to Villa Park this summer as a massive one in his career.
Aston Villa new star at the backline, Taylor Harwood-Bellis has been proud of securing his move to Villa Park. He recognises Villa as the club with distinguished status in English football, its history and surely the bright prospect in his new team.
The defender appears to be aware how challenging it will be in his role, the expectation to replace Ezri Konsa, the established star in The Lions and England national team, plus the chance to feature in the Champions League. It is something he has never thought before considering how he will compete in Europe’s top tier in the club competition pyramid.
The 24-year old shared his view on that, as reported by avfc.co.uk
“It’s a massive step up and something I’m going to thrive on, and I’m willing to learn. I’ve got so much to improve. I’m hoping he can add to what I can do already, add to my qualities, and I’m hoping to get myself underway and win in the process.”
The product of Manchester City seems to be aware that he needs to improve his game. It is part of the level he attempts to reach in his career. The demand is certainly higher than in the Championship and Harwood-Bellis seems to be up for it.
“I’m at a point now in my career where I’m ready to kick on, and also to come to a club with the manager, the stature, and the squad that’s been assembled, is going to be perfect for me to come in and add to my game, add to the group and also improve,”
“I’ve got so much to improve on, while giving what I can. To have a manager who improves players, that’s what I’m coming here to do and to win in the process.”
Making improvement seems to be the one he is trying to focus on. The Stockport-born defender has done so in his previous clubs when he was on loan spells. He has been loaned out five times while still playing for The Citizens. Harwood-Bellis had stints in Blackburn, Burnley, Stoke City and Anderlecht before moving to Southampton. He has worked under several managers, including Pep Guardiola and Vincent Kompany.
“At every club I’ve been at, I’d like to think I’ve improved in different ways. Each manager, I’ve taken things from, and now to work under a manager, like the one here, is just huge for me. “
The defender who agreed to move to B6 with the transfer fee worth £29 million appears to be confident in his distinguished qualities which he could add up to the team.
“I think off the pitch, a leadership and determination. I’m willing to give everything to win. I think that’s been shown at the past clubs I’ve been at.
“I like to think that anyone who’s watched me play can see that I wear my heart on my sleeve and I’d do anything to win. People that I’ve worked with, it’s the thing that is always mentioned around me in terms of my determination and my passion.
“And on the pitch, I like to think that I’ve got qualities on the ball. Defensively, I’ve improved so much.
