Luciano Spalletti has indicated that Kenan Yildiz will not be leaving Juventus for Arsenal this summer, with the Juventus coach unmoved by suggestions that a bid near €100m could be made.
Speaking to reporters before Juventus’ Serie A season opener against Frosinone, Spalletti said he was relaxed about the situation. He said he wants Yildiz to remain at the club and intends to play him, adding that the player is mature and does not need to rush a decision about his future.
Arsenal have been linked with the 21-year-old winger as Mikel Arteta looks to address the left side of his attack. Gabriel Martinelli has fallen out of favour at the Emirates and is expected to leave this summer if Arsenal’s asking price is met, according to Transfermarkt.
Yildiz joined Juventus from Bayern Munich’s academy in 2022 and has become an important player for the club. He has scored 27 goals and registered 21 assists in 131 appearances for the Bianconeri, while Chelsea have also been linked with the Turkish international.
Addressing the reported €100m figure, Spalletti said Yildiz’s future is important at Juventus rather than elsewhere because of another club’s spending power. He added that the coaching staff and supporters are convinced Yildiz can show his full potential.
Yildiz is under contract until June 2030, leaving Juventus under little financial pressure to consider offers during this window. Spalletti’s comments make clear that he wants to retain the winger and use him on the field.
Arsenal have already spent €227m on transfers this summer, including Bruno Guimarães and Christos Tzolis. With Yildiz appearing unavailable, Arteta may need to revisit other left-sided options, with Antonio Nusa, Bradley Barcola and Pedro Neto among the players mentioned as alternatives.
