Trevoh Chalobah’s representatives have reportedly touched down in Italy to hold discussions with two Serie A clubs over a potential summer transfer away from Chelsea.
The Chelsea defender, who made 34 Premier League appearances last season, is said to be eager to make a permanent switch to Italian football this summer.
Fabrizio Romano has reported that Chalobah’s agents will enter into talks with both Inter Milan and Cesc Fabregas’ Como as interest from Serie A continues to grow.
Chelsea have already knocked back an opening bid from Como of around £23 million, with the Blues understood to value their defender at approximately £30 million.
Negotiations with Inter Milan over personal terms are continuing, though Cristian Chivu’s side have yet to lodge a formal offer with Chelsea.
Romano has also reported that Chalobah has long been a target of Inter Milan director Piero Ausilio, with the player himself keen to play in Serie A during the 2026-27 campaign.
Inter had previously explored a deal for Udinese’s Oumar Solet, but negotiations stalled following initial discussions, leaving Chalobah as their primary defensive target.
Chalobah, who is currently in the United States with England’s World Cup squad, has not yet appeared in the tournament but could still play a role for the Three Lions.
He entered the squad as a replacement for Newcastle full-back Tino Livramento, who sustained an injury prior to the tournament, with manager Thomas Tuchel selecting Chalobah to fill the gap.
Chalobah joined Chelsea’s academy at just eight years of age and signed his first professional contract with the club in March 2018, making him a long-serving product of the Stamford Bridge setup.
The 26-year-old experienced three consecutive loan spells away from the club, joining Ipswich Town in 2018, Huddersfield Town in 2019 and Lorient in 2020 before returning under Tuchel.
He made his senior Chelsea debut in the 2021 UEFA Super Cup against Villarreal, just months after the club had lifted the Champions League trophy, and has remained a fixture in the squad since.
Tuchel also handed Chalobah his maiden England cap last May, demonstrating strong faith in a defender who has grown considerably since his days coming through the Chelsea youth ranks.
