The 2026 U.S. Open continues on Friday, June 19, with the second round at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club in Southampton, N.Y. You can find full U.S. Open tee times for Friday’s second round at the bottom of this post.
Rory McIlroy had to wait to begin the quest for his second major of the year at the 2026 U.S. Open Thursday morning. That was thanks to a lengthy two-hour fog delay that pushed McIlroy’s tee time back two hours.
But the delay didn’t see to impact the World No. 2 negatively, at least at first. McIlroy, who won the 2011 U.S. Open at Congressional, got off to a quick start, making birdies at 11 and 12, his second and third holes of the day, to tie for the early lead at two under.
Whether or not he can keep his strong play going on Friday at Shinnecock Hills is another matter.
Second-round tee times could be affected by fog delay that struck on Thursday at Shinnecock Hills. No matter what, some players won’t finish Round 1 on Thursday and will be forced to complete their rounds Friday morning.
McIlroy was originally scheduled to tee off for Round 2 on Friday at 1:47 p.m. ET, but the fog delay could impact his tee time.
