Richarlison And Erling Haaland Mock Gabriel Magalhaes On Social Media After Champions League Final Penalty Heartbreak

Tottenham Hotspur forward Richarlison and Manchester City striker Erling Haaland both fired social media digs at Arsenal following their Champions League final defeat.

The taunts came within minutes of Gabriel Magalhaes skying his penalty as Arsenal fell to Paris Saint-Germain in the shootout.

PSG claimed their second consecutive Champions League title after the Arsenal defender’s spot-kick sailed over the bar.

Arsenal players and PSG captain Marquinhos rushed to console Gabriel, who wept on the pitch as Luis Enrique’s side celebrated around him.

Gabriel was not the only Arsenal player to miss in the shootout, as Eberechi Eze also failed to hit the target with his effort.

Richarlison uploaded a video of a young child laughing hysterically onto his Instagram story, a clear dig directed at his fellow Brazilian countryman.

Haaland also took to social media, posting a picture of himself and friends all smiling into the camera shortly after the final whistle.

The Manchester City star has history with Arsenal, including his infamous “stay humble” snipe at Mikel Arteta and a side-eye glance after City beat Arsenal 2-1 at the Etihad Stadium.

The rivalry between Richarlison and Gabriel stretches back further, with the pair exchanging social media digs since Tottenham beat Arsenal in a pre-season friendly in Asia last summer.

Richarlison tagged Gabriel’s Instagram account and posted a picture of himself holding a man of the match award following that pre-season victory.

Gabriel responded by uploading a picture of the three man of the match awards he had personally collected in fixtures against Tottenham.

When Arsenal beat Tottenham 4-1 earlier in the campaign, Gabriel posted a picture of Eze’s player of the match award alongside his own October Player of the Month gong.

Following a second 4-1 victory over Tottenham, Gabriel sent another dig at Richarlison by uploading a picture of himself holding a hand of cards with the four of hearts visibly on display.

The image referenced the number of goals scored and the four wins Arsenal had recorded at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium across those encounters.

Both Haaland and Richarlison had waited months for an opportunity to respond, and they seized it at Gabriel’s most painful moment of the season.
