Man City Leading the Race for Bournemouth Star, Semenyo

Manchester City are reportedly leading the race to sign Bournemouth star attacker, Antoine Semenyo, in the January transfer window. The Citizens are set to be strong competition from other top Premier League sides, notably Manchester United and Liverpool.

Man City Close to Sign Semenyo

Pep Guardiola’s side looks eager to bolster their squad ahead of the winter transfer window as they want to maintain their title challenge in the Premier League and Europe. Sitting second in the league table with only two points behind Arsenal, Man City believe they can get back into winning again after last season’s failure.

However, the Manchester-based outfit also thinks that to challenge for silverware, they would need more additions to their squad. According to reports from trustworthy media, including transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, Guardiola’s side is closing in on Bournemouth star attacker/winger, Semenyo.

Semenyo Pick City Ahead of Liverpool and Man United

Despite interest from other clubs such as Man United, Liverpool, Chelsea, and Arsenal, it looks like the player has chosen City as his next destination. According to multiple reports, including Romano, Semenyo has personally preferred joining the Citizens, but an agreement between clubs has not been reached yet.

The Ghanaian international has a 65 million pounds release clause that will be active until January 10, but it looks like Man City are looking to find a slightly different payment method. The Citizens will reportedly hold talks with Bournemouth sometime this week to discuss Semenyo’s potential move, along with the transfer fee.

Semenyo’s Arrival Could See Man City Young Talent Depart

The Ghanaian international’s potential arrival will definitely help bolster City’s squad, but it’s not all calm and comfortable for them. According to reports, if Semenyo does arrive, the club might have to let go of one of their young talent, Oscar Bobb.

The Norwegian international will strongly consider leaving the club, as he wants more regular playing time ahead of the 2026 World Cup. Semenyo’s potential arrival can definitely lessen Bobb’s playing time, so leaving might be the 22-year-old’s best option.

Borussia Dortmund are reportedly one of the main candidates to sign the young Norwegian talent, should he really opt to leave Man City in January.
