Liverpool attacker Harvey Elliott is reportedly keen on joining Leeds United when the summer transfer window opens for business.
The 23-year-old is set to return to his parent club following a disappointing loan spell at Aston Villa, where he made just nine appearances.
Elliott failed to reach the agreed 10-game threshold at Aston Villa that would have triggered a permanent transfer to the Midlands club.
Liverpool head coach Arne Slot has reportedly given the green light for Elliott to be sold this summer, according to a report from Football Insider.
Elliott’s contract at Anfield is set to expire next year, and there is no indication he will be reintegrated into the squad on Merseyside.
The former England under-21 star is determined to find a club where he can secure regular game-time after a frustrating period of his career.
Daniel Farke is said to believe that Leeds could provide Elliott with exactly the consistent playing opportunities he is seeking at this stage.
Sources indicate that the recent Europa League winner would be interested in a move to Elland Road if assurances over game-time are provided.
Elliott was officially named Player of the Tournament as England retained their European under-21 crown last June, underlining his considerable potential.
He would offer Farke an additional right-sided attacking option while also providing competition for Brenden Aaronson in the number 10 role.
Football finance expert Stefan Borson told Football Insider that Liverpool might be prepared to sanction a £25m exit for Elliott this summer.
Borson noted that this represents a reasonable fee for a 23-year-old who has proven he can perform in the Premier League and holds homegrown status.
Although Slot recently confirmed Elliott will be present for the start of Liverpool’s pre-season, a pathway back into the first team remains unclear.
With the player reportedly open to the move and Farke able to offer regular football, Leeds appear well-placed to push for a deal.
