Aston Villa will be travelling to the north against Newcastle United this Saturday afternoon.

Aston Villa is back in business for the domestic games with a Premier League away match on the horizon this weekend. Unai Emery’s men will be taking on Newcastle United at St James’ Park.

Aston Villa are currently at their positive trend. They have just secured their first home win as well by routing Fenerbahce 6-0 in the UEFA Champions League in the midweek. Meanwhile, the Magpies have been in the mix this season. They were hammered 4-1 by Frank Lampard’s Coventry City last weekend in their last outings.

Newcastle might still sit higher in the current standings than Aston Villa. They are sitting on the 11 with two wins, draw and losses each. Oh on the other hand, Emery’s side might just sit 16 but the air of optimism in their side.

Several players might still be unavailable for this game. The likes of George Hemmings, Ian Maatsen, Matteo Ruggeri, Modou Cisse, Amadou Onana and Brian Madjo are still ruled out due to their injuries. Fortunately, Matthias Jaissle’s side could not field several players too, including Anthony Elanga and the former Villa man, Jacob Ramsey.

Their head-to-head record shows how Villa only managed to win twice in their last six meetings, including their last encounter in the FA Cup last season when The Lions were beaten at their home turf. John McGinn and Co still need to be careful with their potential to stumble their side.
