Federico Chiesa is reportedly keen to leave Liverpool in January, with Inter Milan, Atalanta and Lazio monitoring the former Juventus winger ahead of a possible return to Serie A.
CaughtOffside reports, citing Calciomercato, that the three clubs are following the 28-year-old’s situation. The report says there are no concrete talks yet, so interest has not advanced to a confirmed bid or agreement.
Chiesa joined Liverpool from Juventus in the summer of 2024, but his time at Anfield has not brought the regular role he would have wanted. He has struggled to make an impact and received limited minutes across his first two seasons with the club.
He has yet to play a minute for Liverpool this season, while the report suggests the current squad offers him little prospect of a more prominent place. That lack of involvement helps explain why a January departure is being discussed, although it does not mean a move is already close.
Chiesa’s standing in Turin was very different: he had emerged as one of Juventus’ leading attacking talents before heading to England. A return to Italy could offer a route back to regular football, with Chiesa’s potential return to Serie A having previously been linked with interest from other Italian clubs.
Inter, Atalanta and Lazio are the three sides named in the report, all looking at the possibility of bringing the winger back to the Italian top flight. Inter’s interest has featured in previous coverage of Chiesa’s transfer situation, but the latest account does not establish that any of the clubs has opened formal negotiations.

The January window is the potential next opportunity for a move, but the key question is whether one of the interested sides progresses beyond monitoring. Chiesa has scored five goals in 50 appearances for Liverpool, according to CaughtOffside’s report; for now, that record and his lack of minutes this season frame the possibility of an exit, not a completed transfer.
