Juventus could revive their interest in Alisson after failing to sign him during the summer, with Liverpool yet to open fresh contract talks with their goalkeeper. The Brazilian remains first choice at Anfield, but the lack of movement on a new deal has left his long-term future unresolved.
According to Football Italia, Juventus have not given up on a player they chased earlier this year, and Liverpool’s previous efforts to retain Alisson may not be enough to close the door permanently. The report stresses that Liverpool have not yet begun formal discussions over an extension, despite exercising an option earlier in 2026 that keeps him under contract until the end of the season.
Alisson, 33, is still delivering at a high level. He has started every league match so far this season and produced a decisive stop from Evanilson in the 1-0 win at Bournemouth, a save that earned him a Premier League Save of the Month nomination. He now has 138 clean sheets in 336 appearances for the club, fourth on Liverpool’s all-time goalkeeper list.
Behind him, though, Giorgi Mamardashvili is waiting for his opportunity, and Andoni Iraola has already trusted the Georgian in cup competition. That leaves Liverpool with a genuine choice: extend Alisson and manage a gradual handover, or give Mamardashvili a clearer route to becoming No. 1.
Juventus’ own goalkeeping picture has grown complicated. Kamil Grabara is expected to be out for six to seven months after cruciate ligament surgery, and the club has brought in veteran Neto purely as emergency cover in the meantime.
No fresh contract talks between Alisson and Liverpool have taken place, and any exit remains tied to the end of his current deal rather than an agreed departure. A free transfer for a goalkeeper of his experience would be an attractive proposition for Juventus even as he approaches his mid-thirties, but that scenario only becomes realistic if renewal talks at Anfield continue to stall.
For now, Liverpool have no obvious footballing reason to push their goalkeeper toward the exit. If Alisson keeps performing at this level, the more sensible route may be to retain him while slowly building up Mamardashvili’s workload, rather than forcing an abrupt changeover that a possible 2027 departure would represent.
