J.J. Spaun's clubs: Return to L.A.B. mallet culminates in BMW PGA Championship win
For the second year in a row, the winner of the BMW PGA Championship won’t be playing in next week’s international team competition. But that didn’t matter at Wentworth.
J.J. Spaun shrugged off his U.S. Presidents Cup team snub to win this week’s DP World Tour flagship event in his first start at Wentworth.
Notably, Spaun won after returning to the L.A.B. Golf DF3 putter, which powered him to his best career season in 2025, including the U.S. Open win at Oakmont. He made the switch back last month.
Spaun won earlier this season with his gamer in Texas, but started switching to different models in May, just before his title defense at the U.S. Open. He ended up using a custom Scotty Cameron Phantom 9.5 for much of the summer before going back to the DF3 at the BMW Championship in St. Louis.
The rest of Spaun’s setup is basically unchanged from his U.S. Open and Valero wins over the past 15 months. His back consists of a set of Srixon ZXi irons, Cleveland wedges, Titleist GT3 driver and TaylorMade Qi10 fairway woods.
