Aston Villa have been eyeing another Italian international to add squad depth in the next transfer window in January.
Aston Villa continue hunting for more players to bolster the squad. With the likes of Ross Barkley and Leon Goretzka already above 30 years old, they need younger figures to avoid another bumpy transition in the summer.
Their current target is the Italian international midfielder who has just been capped twice so far, Cher Ndour, as reported by CaughtOffside.

Ndour joined La Viola back in the middle of 2025/26 from PSG. Yet, he mainly spent his career on loan with Sporting Braga and then Besiktas before moving to Fiorentina. The Brescia-born midfielder only played four times with Le Parisien.
Last summer, his club reportedly rejected any offer for him. His contract runs until 2029, and Fiorentina are in control of the negotiation. Aston Villa are not the only side monitoring his situation. Liverpool, Inter and Juventus have been doing the same. Manchester United have also been linked to the 22-year-old midfielder.
His price tag could reach between £26 million and £43 million. It should not be too difficult for any Premier League team, including Aston Villa, to meet La Viola’s demand.
Ndour has made 81 appearances so far for the Italian Serie A outfit, notching up six goals and three assists. He is a versatile midfielder who can be deployed as a defensive midfielder and attacking midfielder too. His main position is central midfielder or box-to-box midfielder.
Based on the data in FotMob, the former Besiktas man has been in fine form this season. He has created five shots, with one of them being on target. His successful pass rate is 85.6%, whereas his successful crossing rate is 33.3%.
Meanwhile, his rate for accurate long balls is 50%, while his rate for successful dribbles is 100%. Ndour’s winning duel rate reaches 48.6% and 75% for aerial duels. In defending phase, Ndour has made 11 defensive contributions, with five tackles, three interceptions, one blocked shot and two clearances. He has made 15 ball recoveries too.
Should The Lions able to lure him to move to Villa Park, it would be a great addition to the squad. He could be the successor of Barkley and Goretzka and even can become the next Youri Tielemans in the future as he has the potentials to create balance in the second line too.
