Aston Villa’s first win of the season has been seen as part of the rebuilding process by their boss, Unai Emery.
Aston Villa finally managed to snatch a win this campaign without having to wait too long, unlike last season when they had to wait for their first three points. Unai Emery’s men were able to beat hosts Club Brugge 3-2. John McGinn, Emiliano Buendia and Nicolas Jackson were the ones who found the back of the net, while the Belgian champions only managed to reply twice.
The Spanish boss underlined the importance of their win at Jan Breydel Stadium as a vital sign of their bounce back, as reported by BBC after the game.
“We must work hard – it is the only way. This is the process that we must try to set. We did one very important step forward, being resilient when we were struggling.”
Apparently, Emery is beginning to find the right way to gel the team. The senior players have shown their role in helping the team’s improvement. He added such a compliment in his comments.
“The players have a responsibility too, the older players need to guide to keep our standard high, to show everybody that this is the only way to achieve our targets. We are improving after Brighton and after Hull City.”
