Arsenal have secured the signing of Georgian teenager Andria Bartishvili, with transfer insider Fabrizio Romano confirming the deal is formally sealed.
Romano broke the news on X, stating clearly that the 17-year-old can now be considered an Arsenal player following a completed medical.
Romano’s post read: “Georgian talent Andria Bartishvili can be considered a new Arsenal player. Medical completed, contract set to be signed and deal formally sealed.”
He added: “Bartishvili will join #AFC first team in summer 2027 when he turns 18.”
The teenager will not link up with the first-team squad immediately, with the formal integration planned for the summer of 2027 upon his 18th birthday.
Arsenal had been strongly linked with Bartishvili throughout the summer transfer window, with BBC Sport among the outlets reporting the Gunners’ serious interest.
BBC Sport had also reported that Liverpool and Juventus were tracking the highly-rated Georgian prospect, making Arsenal’s success in landing him all the more impressive.
The North London club have not yet made an official announcement, but Romano’s report leaves little doubt that the deal is done and dusted behind the scenes.
Arsenal fans will inevitably draw comparisons between Bartishvili and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, another elite Georgian talent who has made a massive impact at the top level of European football.
Kvaratskhelia famously made his name at Napoli before moving on to Paris Saint-Germain, where he has since become a multiple Champions League winner.
The stylistic similarities between the two players will give Arsenal supporters genuine reason for excitement about what Bartishvili could eventually bring to the Emirates Stadium.
Competition for places at Arsenal will be fierce, but landing a player of this potential at 17 looks like a savvy long-term investment by the club’s recruitment team.
