Everton have been offered the opportunity to sign former Manchester United forward Anthony Martial as the club scrambles for attacking reinforcements.
Representatives for the 30-year-old Frenchman have reportedly approached Everton directly over a potential move to Goodison Park.
Martial is currently a free agent, which means Everton can sign and register him despite the summer transfer window having already closed.
The former Manchester United forward became unattached earlier this year after his spell with Mexican club Monterrey came to an end.
Martial is reportedly keen on returning to English football following his time in Mexico, where he managed just one goal in 20 appearances for Monterrey.
Talks between Martial’s representatives and Everton are understood to remain at an exploratory stage, with no agreement currently in place.
Despite his recent struggles for consistency and fitness, Martial brings considerable Premier League experience that Everton could find valuable.
He scored 63 goals in 209 Premier League appearances for Manchester United after arriving at Old Trafford, establishing himself as a proven top-flight forward.
