Juventus have double good news to celebrate in the closing hours of the summer transfer window. Pape Matar Sarr has landed in Turin to complete his move from Tottenham Hotspur, while Nick Woltemade has agreed personal terms on a €5m loan from Newcastle United, according to Football Italia.
The report, published by Susy Campanale on August 31, details both pieces of business as the Bianconeri look to the Premier League for late reinforcements. Sarr’s arrival is confirmed as having already happened, while Woltemade’s switch is described as a personal-terms agreement with travel to follow.
Juventus have been searching the Premier League specifically in the final hours of the window, and Sarr’s departure from Tottenham was set in motion after coach Roberto De Zerbi confirmed the midfielder had put in a request to leave London. That handshake agreement was reached the previous evening, per the report, clearing the way for Sarr’s flight to Turin.
Woltemade’s move is framed as Newcastle’s response to losing Jonathan David, who has separately agreed a loan with an option to buy worth €25m to Atlético Madrid. Juventus’ prior interest in Woltemade and their approach to Newcastle had already been tracked in earlier coverage of the club’s forward search, part of a wider hunt for attacking alternatives that also touched on other names considered alongside Woltemade.
Sarr’s move is structured as a loan with an option to buy, totalling €30m across the full deal. That option turns into an automatic obligation if Juventus qualify for the Europa League and Sarr features in at least 50 per cent of the team’s matches this season.
Woltemade’s terms are simpler: a straight €5m loan fee with no purchase option attached, meaning he is set to return to Newcastle next summer regardless of how his season in Turin unfolds.
Sarr has already landed in Turin and is scheduled to undergo medical tests on Tuesday. Woltemade, having agreed personal terms, is expected to fly out from England to Turin within hours to complete the formalities on his side.
