Fiorentina have reportedly agreed an €18m deal to sign Everton striker Beto, a move that clears Moise Kean’s path to Como and has allowed Juventus to make a fresh offer for Joshua Zirkzee. The three deals are described as directly interconnected, with each one dependent on the other going through before Monday’s deadline.
According to Football Italia, the final hours of the transfer window produced a genuine domino effect involving Fiorentina, Como and Juventus. The outlet cites Gianluca Di Marzio and Fabrizio Romano for the Beto fee, reported at €17-18m depending on the source, while OneFootball’s account of the same sequence likewise credits Di Marzio and Romano with breaking the Beto and Zirkzee developments.
Fiorentina were not prepared to let Kean leave for Como until they had lined up a replacement. The striker had been set for that move for several days, but the Viola pushed hard for Zirkzee first, only to realise late on Sunday evening that the Dutchman had his heart set on Juventus rather than Florence.
Once that became clear, Fiorentina abandoned the Zirkzee pursuit and locked down Beto instead. With his arrival, Kean is now free to travel for his medical tests and complete the switch to Como.
Fiorentina’s retreat from the Zirkzee race is what allowed Juventus to finally table an offer for the Manchester United forward. Football Italia also notes that Atlético Madrid are pushing for Jonathan David, a factor that has helped open the lane for Juventus’ move, though nothing in the reporting suggests Atlético were ever bidding directly against the Bianconeri for Zirkzee himself.
The reported structure of Juventus’ proposal is a loan with an option to buy for €30m, giving the club a route to reinforce the attack without committing to an outright permanent fee up front – a mechanism that would also sit alongside Juventus’ broader centre-forward reshuffle this summer.
Kean’s move to Como is reported as a €5m loan with an obligation to buy for €30m, plus €5m in add-ons. Beto’s return to Serie A is valued at €17-18m, with Fiorentina’s agreement described elsewhere as an €18m deal.
Beto is expected in Italy for his medical on Monday, at which point Kean can also undergo his own tests and finalise his switch to Como. Juventus’ Zirkzee proposal remains a reported loan with an option to buy for €30m, and there is no confirmation yet that the deal has been completed.
