Tottenham Hotspur have agreed personal terms with Egyptian international forward Omar Marmoush, taking them a significant step closer to completing his signing from Manchester City.
The deal is part of a reported £140 million double raid on the reigning Premier League champions, with Spurs having already finalised an £85 million package for Brazilian winger Savinho.
Negotiations between Tottenham and Marmoush’s representatives progressed swiftly, with both parties reaching a full agreement on a long-term contract running until June 2031.
The transfer fee for Marmoush is expected to settle between £55 million and £60 million, with performance-related add-ons potentially pushing the total figure higher.
Should the deal be completed, Tottenham’s summer spending would surge beyond £370 million, reflecting the club’s extraordinary ambition in the current transfer window.
Spurs are also monitoring Liverpool winger Cody Gakpo, who is understood to have already agreed personal terms over a switch to north London, though his move looks increasingly uncertain.
It is now looking increasingly likely that Gakpo will remain at Anfield, prompting Tottenham to explore alternative options to strengthen their attacking options further.
Chelsea winger Mykhaylo Mudryk has emerged as a potential Plan B, with manager Roberto De Zerbi having previously worked with the Ukrainian at Shakhtar Donetsk and reportedly viewing him as a natural fit.
A temporary loan arrangement with Chelsea is said to be under consideration as Tottenham weigh up their options if the Gakpo pursuit ultimately fails to materialise.
Elsewhere, midfielder Pape Sarr is understood to have agreed personal terms with Galatasaray after reacting angrily to being informed he was no longer part of the club’s plans.
The Turkish club have already seen two bids rejected, with their most recent offer worth £17.1 million falling short of Tottenham’s demands.
Spurs are reportedly holding out for a package worth £21.4 million before they will sanction Sarr’s departure from north London this summer.
The flurry of transfer activity highlights the scale of the rebuild underway at Tottenham as De Zerbi looks to put his stamp on the squad ahead of the new campaign.
