Wyndham Clark has a commanding lead through 54 holes at the BMW Championship at Bellerive Country Club in St. Louis, the second event of the FedEx Cup Playoffs. Here’s what you need to know for the Final Round Sunday.
Thanks to playing the middle eight holes of his round in 7-under, 2026 U.S. Open winner Wyndham Clark started running away from the field at the BMW Championship, opening up a five-shot lead through three rounds.
That lead could have been even bigger had Clark birdied the par-5 17th or not bogeyed the par-4 18th. And that was after opening his third round with a double at the 1st hole.
“We kind of just said, Wow, that sucked. And then [Caddie] Dave [Pelekoudas] said, Hey, it’s fun to have a challenge; let’s embrace it, and let’s go move on to the next hole. That’s done,” Clark said Saturday evening. “Unfortunately, hit a bad shot on 2, but then really made a nice recovery and then got into a nice groove after that.”
The penultimate FedEx Cup playoff event won’t just be handed to him, however. He’s followed closely by two other FedEx Cup winners, Rory McIlroy and Patrick Cantlay.
He’ll be paired with McIlroy, the two-time reigning Masters winner, in Sunday’s final pairing at 1:50 p.m. ET.
