The sixth annual Leagues Cup, pitting Liga MX against Major League Soccer, gets underway on August 4 and runs through September 6.
This year’s tournament will feature 36 clubs in total, made up of all 18 Liga MX teams and 18 qualified MLS sides.
Phase One of the competition consists of 54 exclusive MLS versus Liga MX matchups, with the top four clubs from each league advancing to the quarterfinals.
The quarterfinals are scheduled for August 25 through 27, with the semifinals following on September 1 and 2.
Both the third-place match and the final will be played on September 6, bringing the tournament to a close.
Three clubs will qualify for the 2027 Concacaf Champions Cup through the Leagues Cup, with the champion earning a direct berth to the Round of 16.
Defending champion Seattle Sounders open their title defense against reigning Concacaf Champions Cup winner Toluca FC on August 5 at 7 p.m. PT at Estadio Nemesio Diez.
Seattle captured their first Leagues Cup title with a 3-0 victory over Inter Miami CF in the 2025 final, and will be looking to back that up with another strong run.
Several global stars will make their Leagues Cup debuts in 2026, including France’s Antoine Griezmann at Orlando City SC, Poland’s Robert Lewandowski at Chicago Fire, and Brazil’s Casemiro at Inter Miami CF.
Casemiro enters the competition following his third FIFA World Cup campaign, adding another layer of star quality to what is already a stacked Inter Miami CF squad.
One notable change for 2026 sees four matches played in Mexico, breaking from previous editions where all games were staged in the United States and Canada.
Apple TV remains the exclusive global home of every Leagues Cup match, available in more than 100 countries and regions across Apple devices and all major viewing platforms.
Matches will be broadcast with commentary available in English, Spanish, and French, alongside dedicated programming including Leagues Cup Countdown, Leagues Cup Wrap-Up, Leagues Cup La Previa, and Leagues Cup El Resumen.
In the United States, TelevisaUnivision will air 16 matches across its broadcast networks, including 11 during Phase One and five during the Knockout Stage, including the Final.
FOX Sports will televise 14 matches on FS1, covering 12 Phase One games and two matches during the Knockout Stage.
In Canada, TSN will carry 14 matches, while RDS will present seven matches in French for Canadian audiences.
New for 2026, Imagen Television joins the broadcast lineup in Mexico, carrying 12 Phase One matches, while TelevisaUnivision networks will broadcast three additional Phase One matches in the country.
