Tottenham Target Crysencio Summerville As Winger Hunt Intensifies Following Record-Breaking Transfer Window

Journalist Ben Jacobs has linked Tottenham Hotspur with a serious interest in signing West Ham United winger Crysencio Summerville this summer.

The Netherlands international looks set to depart West Ham following their relegation from the Premier League down to the Championship this season.

Summerville’s situation has attracted significant attention from several top clubs, with a number of high-profile transfer rumours already circulating around the player.

Speaking to Give Me Sport, Jacobs identified Summerville as a key name to watch for Tottenham as they look to strengthen their attacking options before the season begins.

Jacobs also mentioned Manchester United as potential suitors for the winger, while noting that Roma have most recently entered the conversation as well.

Tottenham’s remarkable recent transfer activity has drawn attention, with the club breaking their transfer record twice within 24 hours to sign Mateus Fernandes and Sandro Tonali.

Jacobs cautioned supporters not to expect that extraordinary pace of business to continue day after day, but insisted the club is steadily building across every position.

“Spurs fans are saying, ‘Why are we so quiet?’, because they were so busy!” Jacobs explained.

“But it’s not a break your club transfer record every single day like they did in 24 hours from Mateus Fernandes to Sandro Tonali. But they’re working their way up the field. It’s fair to say so.”

Jacobs outlined that the goalkeeping position has already been addressed, with Kinsky extended and Dubravka arriving, while defensive and midfield reinforcements have also been secured.

“The goalkeeper situation is sorted because Kinsky is extended, and Dubravka has arrived. Defenders have come in, midfielders have come in, and now Tottenham, as a priority, want a starting left-winger or attacker,” Jacobs said.

“Savinho talks (are) ongoing, but he’s not the only target. Crysencio Summerville, Manchester United and most recently Roma are there as well.”

Manchester City’s Savinho remains part of the picture for Tottenham, though Summerville appears to be a genuine alternative rather than a fallback option.

Cody Gakpo has also been reported as another top target for Spurs in that same attacking position, highlighting the scope of the club’s ambitions this window.

Tottenham have endured back-to-back 17th place finishes in the Premier League, making this summer’s recruitment all the more critical under new manager Roberto De Zerbi.

The Europa League final victory in the 2024/25 season offered some relief, but the north London club knows that domestic performances must improve significantly in the campaign ahead.

Signing a quality wide attacker of Summerville or Savinho’s calibre would represent another strong statement of intent from a club clearly determined to rebuild quickly and decisively.
