Last month, golfers hoping to qualify for the U.S. Open competed in final qualifying for the third major of the year, also known as “Golf’s Longest Day.” On Tuesday, golf fans will be treated to the British version with 2026 Open Championship final qualifying.
The 2026 Open Championship begins on July 16th at Royal Birkdale, and the final 20 spots in the tournament are up for grabs on Tuesday. In all, there are four 2026 Open Championship final qualifying events on tap, with around 71 players in each field fighting across 36 holes for five Open spots at each event.
The final qualifying events stretch across Scotland and England, and while many competitors are unknown to golf fans, that’s not true of everyone. Former Masters champions and current LIV Golf pros Sergio Garcia and Danny Willett are among the most notable players competing. They’ll be fighting for Open tee times at the West Lancashire qualifier, where YouTube golf stars George and Wesley Bryan are also trying to play their way into the final major of the year.
