Andy Robertson, Jan Paul Van Hecke And New Tottenham Signings Set For Debut As Hoffenheim Friendlies Confirmed

Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed two pre-season friendly matches against Bundesliga outfit TSG 1899 Hoffenheim in the days immediately before their Premier League campaign begins.

Roberto De Zerbi’s side will host Hoffenheim at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday, August 15, with kick-off scheduled for 3pm.

The fixture arrives exactly one week before Spurs open their Premier League season away at Brentford, making it an important final warm-up for De Zerbi’s squad.

A second meeting with Christian Ilzer’s Hoffenheim side will follow the very next day, on Sunday August 16, held behind closed doors at the Hotspur Way training complex.

That second game is designed to give another full Tottenham starting XI valuable minutes, helping players build the fitness and sharpness De Zerbi demands ahead of the new campaign.

Hoffenheim arrive having finished fifth in last season’s Bundesliga, earning themselves another Europa League campaign, a competition in which Spurs beat them 3-2 in Germany on the way to lifting the trophy.

Tickets for the public-facing friendly at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium have been priced accessibly, with adults paying £20 and children just £5 to attend.

The fixtures could also hand supporters their first glimpse of Spurs’ summer arrivals, with Andy Robertson, Marcos Senesi, Martin Dubravka, and Jan Paul van Hecke all expected to be available by that stage.

Van Hecke joined in a £52 million deal from Brighton, while Robertson, Senesi, and Dubravka all arrived on free transfers, giving De Zerbi significant new options across his squad.

The three players who attended the World Cup should be back in pre-season training well in time, with the tournament final taking place on July 19 and a standard three-week rest period applied after international competition.

Spurs are also understood to be pursuing further additions further up the pitch, with Sandro Tonali, Mateus Fernandes, and potentially Savinho among those being targeted.

Before the Hoffenheim games, Tottenham’s pre-season begins with a training ground friendly against League One side MK Dons at Hotspur Way on Wednesday, July 22.

The club then travel to New Zealand to face Auckland FC at Eden Park on July 26, before heading to Australia to take on Sydney FC at the Allianz Stadium on July 29.

Their summer tour concludes with a meeting against London rivals Chelsea as part of the 2026 Sydney Super Cup, the first competitive encounter between the two clubs outside the United Kingdom.

With the Hoffenheim double-header now confirmed, Tottenham’s preparations for the new Premier League era under De Zerbi are taking clear and exciting shape.
