Nottingham Forest have emerged as one of the leading contenders to sign Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Lucas Bergvall this summer transfer window.
The Sweden international has reportedly told Spurs he wants to leave the club, despite signing a contract extension until 2031 last year.
That development makes Bergvall’s situation one of the more compelling midfield stories of the current transfer window.
Forest’s interest in the 20-year-old makes considerable sense given the changes expected within their own midfield department this summer.
With Elliot Anderson expected to join Manchester City, Forest are actively looking for a young, high-upside midfielder who can help fill that void.
Bergvall already brings Premier League experience, international pedigree and the technical versatility to operate across multiple midfield roles.
Chelsea and Aston Villa have both enquired about Bergvall in the past, but there are currently no active approaches from either club.
