Arsenal have lowered their asking price for Gabriel Jesus, with sources indicating the club are now willing to accept somewhere in the region of £20-25 million for the Brazilian forward.
The Gunners had initially held out for closer to £30 million for the 29-year-old, but have adjusted their expectations as interest from potential suitors remains cautious and hesitant.
Jesus himself is not actively pushing for a move away from the Emirates Stadium this summer, making the situation more complicated for Arsenal as they look to reshape their attacking options.
Despite his reluctance to leave, Arsenal are keen to move Jesus on, with the club reportedly eager to remove the injury-prone striker from their wage bill ahead of the new season.
One source familiar with the situation said: “Arsenal are hoping to sell Gabriel Jesus this summer and there’s an awareness that that means being more realistic about their asking price.”
The same source added: “At the moment the message is that clubs won’t pay big for him — there are understandable concerns about his fitness record.”
Everton have maintained a long-standing interest in the forward but have not yet tabled a formal offer, while Brazilian side Palmeiras have also shown some indication of interest in their former player.
Progress on any potential deal has stalled for the time being, with both Jesus’ asking price and his wage demands presenting significant obstacles to a transfer being completed.
This sale is expected to be one of several Arsenal pursue this summer, with the club also open to offloading Gabriel Martinelli, Leandro Trossard, and Christian Norgaard from their first-team ranks.
Loaned-out players including Fabio Vieira and Reiss Nelson are also available for transfer, as the Premier League champions look to conduct a broader squad overhaul during the window.
Elsewhere, Viktor Gyokeres is understood not to be leaving Arsenal this summer, while a deal for Julian Alvarez also looks difficult for the Gunners as things currently stand.
The future of Ethan Nwaneri also remains unclear, with sources providing mixed messages on whether the young midfielder will stay or be moved on before the transfer window closes.
