Como Make Official Move For Trevoh Chalobah As Chelsea Weigh Up Summer Departure

Serie A club Como have submitted an official bid for Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah, with transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirming the approach.

Romano broke the news on his official X account, revealing that Como have moved ahead of Inter Milan in the race to secure the centre-back’s signature this summer.

Inter Milan had also been monitoring Chalobah as a potential option in central defence, though Como appear to have acted more decisively in making their move.

Chalobah is currently representing England at the 2026 World Cup and is not expected to rush into any decision about his future while the tournament continues.

Romano posted: “Trevoh Chalobah can leave Chelsea this summer and Como send initial official bid for the centre back. Understand Inter have also looked at Chalobah among centre back options. English CB focused on World Cup but UCL clubs keen.”

The 26-year-old has made over 150 appearances for Chelsea, establishing himself as a dependable presence during a turbulent period for the club.

Chelsea have seen significant turnover in both players and managers in recent years, and Chalobah has been one of the more consistent figures throughout that upheaval.

Como, managed by former Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas, has quickly developed a reputation as an exciting project in Italian football since earning promotion to Serie A.

The opportunity to play regularly under Fabregas and contribute to Como’s development could represent an appealing next step in Chalobah’s career.

Chelsea, meanwhile, appear to be actively planning for life without Chalobah, with the club reportedly exploring centre-back additions of their own this summer.

Crystal Palace defender Maxence Lacroix has emerged as a target for Chelsea, with Ben Jacobs reporting that the club want to sign a centre-back who brings height and physicality.

Jacobs posted that Chelsea are keen on the 26-year-old Lacroix, though Crystal Palace would prefer to keep him at Selhurst Park beyond this summer.

Como’s own defender Jacobo Ramon is also said to remain appreciated by Chelsea, who are reportedly stepping up their interest in the young talent.

It appears Chelsea are looking to upgrade their options in central defence, which would make a departure for Chalobah a logical outcome for both club and player this window.
