Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly keeping close tabs on Brian Brobbey as the Sunderland striker continues to impress on the international stage.
The 24-year-old had an outstanding 2025/26 domestic campaign, scoring seven goals in 31 appearances for the Black Cats while regularly troubling top defenders.
Brobbey’s ability to hold up play and impose himself physically on opposition backlines made him one of the most compelling strikers in English football last season.
His performances earned him a World Cup call-up with the Netherlands under manager Ronald Koeman, and he has wasted little time making an impact in the tournament.
After a brief substitute appearance in the Netherlands’ 2-2 draw against Japan, Brobbey was handed a starting role against Sweden and delivered an emphatic statement.
Just five minutes into that fixture, Cody Gakpo picked out the striker charging through Sweden’s penalty area, allowing Brobbey to stroke the ball home and give his country a 1-0 lead.
Twelve minutes later, a dangerous cross from Denzel Dumfries allowed Brobbey to stretch ahead of Kristoffer Nordfeldt and slot home his second goal of the match.
The Netherlands ultimately cruised to a commanding 5-1 victory over Sweden in a display of collective brilliance that underscored Brobbey’s growing status.
Tottenham are among the clubs reportedly keen on signing the striker, with Roberto De Zerbi believed to be targeting a major squad overhaul heading into next season.

Sunderland are under no pressure to sell, having brought Brobbey in from Ajax for just £21.6 million last summer, with his contract running until 2029.
Sources have informed TEAMtalk that the Black Cats view Brobbey as integral to their future ambitions and have absolutely no intention of sanctioning his departure.
Club officials are also reportedly considering offering him an extended long-term deal to further underline his importance to the project on Wearside.
With Europa League football confirmed for Sunderland in 2026/27, Brobbey will be keen to prove himself on the continental stage rather than seeking a move elsewhere.
The striker’s name carries a complicated edge for Spurs supporters specifically, stemming from a controversial moment during De Zerbi’s managerial debut in April.
In a 1-0 defeat at the Stadium of Light, Brobbey appeared to nudge Cristian Romero into goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky, with Romero’s knee clashing with Kinsky’s head.
