Julian Alvarez Publicly Confirms Atletico Madrid Exit Desire As Arsenal And Barcelona Circle

Julian Alvarez has gone public with his desire to leave Atletico Madrid this summer, confirming transfer interest from several major European clubs.

The Argentine striker made his feelings clear in a statement to ESPN, leaving little doubt about his intentions heading into the summer transfer window.

Speaking to ESPN, he said: “The best thing for me is a transfer and I want to fulfil my dream. I don’t want to hide or act like I don’t want to be clear. I try to be honest. I spoke to Atletico people and I think the best for everyone involved is for me to leave.”

Arsenal are among the clubs linked with the 26-year-old, alongside Spanish rivals Barcelona and Real Madrid, who have both already had bids rejected.

Barcelona saw their initial offer turned down by Atletico earlier this month but are widely expected to return with a significantly improved proposal.

The situation has generated a heated public exchange between the two La Liga clubs, with Atletico releasing several statements expressing their frustration at the unfolding saga.

Real Madrid also had a record-breaking offer rejected, and they have since redirected their transfer focus toward strengthening in midfield instead.

Arsenal, meanwhile, appear to currently be concentrating their efforts on signing Aston Villa midfielder Morgan Rogers, which may suggest Alvarez will not be heading to north London.

Ayyoub Bouaddi is another name attracting Arsenal’s attention, with the Lille midfielder impressing for Morocco at the World Cup following a strong domestic season.

Real Madrid are also understood to be monitoring Bouaddi, who is one of several players catching the eye of Europe’s biggest clubs during the tournament in the United States.

The futures of Alvarez, Bouaddi, and Morgan Rogers are all expected to become clearer once the World Cup concludes in mid-July, with negotiations likely to accelerate.

Argentina, England, and Morocco all remain capable of progressing deep into the tournament, which could limit clubs’ time to finalise deals before pre-season preparations begin.

Paris Saint-Germain’s Bradley Barcola represents another option for Arsenal, with a chain of potential transfer moves involving Yan Diomande and Liverpool also considered plausible.

A move to Anfield for Diomande remains possible, though PSG are also competing for his signature, and if the European champions secure that deal, Barcola could become available.
