Arsenal Target Morgan Rogers, Bradley Barcola And Nico Williams As Mikel Arteta Eyes Major Summer Spending

Arsenal have spent close to £930 million on new players since Mikel Arteta replaced Unai Emery in December 2019, and the club shows no sign of slowing down.

The Gunners boss wants not only to defend the Premier League title but also to go one step further and win the Champions League for the first time in the club’s history.

Arsenal came agonisingly close to European glory last season, only to fall at the final hurdle by losing a penalty shootout against Paris Saint-Germain.

The defeat left Arteta hungry for more and he quickly turned his attention to recruitment, vowing to take the club to another level this coming season.

Speaking after the match, Arteta said: “First of all, I will take a few days with my family, and then we will start the process to review what we have done.”

He added: “We will have to start making some very important decisions if we want to reach another level. We are going to have to show that ambition because we are more than capable of doing it, but it is going to demand us to be very ambitious, very fast and very smart.”

Morgan Rogers leads the list of potential targets at odds of 1/2, having contributed 14 goals and 12 assists across 55 appearances for Aston Villa last season.

The 23-year-old helped Villa finish fourth in the Premier League and win the Europa League, making him one of the most exciting attacking talents in England.

Bradley Barcola is also on Arsenal’s radar at 6/4, having scored 13 goals and provided seven assists in 49 appearances for Paris Saint-Germain last season.

Barcola played a prominent role in PSG’s Champions League campaign but was notably left out of the starting lineup in the latter rounds, and Arsenal could offer him a more consistent and prominent platform.

Nico Williams, priced at 2/1, is another option, with the 23-year-old Athletic Bilbao winger having won the Copa del Rey with his boyhood club and a European Championship with Spain back in 2024.

Ayyoub Bouaddi enters the conversation at evens, with the 18-year-old Lille midfielder having caught the eye at the World Cup representing Morocco, establishing himself as one of the most exciting young prospects in Europe.

Eli Junior Kroupi made an enormous impression at Bournemouth last season, scoring 13 goals as a teenager to break the record for most goals in a debut Premier League campaign, surpassing the marks set by Robbie Fowler and Robbie Keane.

Rafael Leao is listed at 6/1 despite a relatively subdued campaign by his standards, managing 10 goals and three assists across 31 appearances for AC Milan, his lowest contribution tally in five seasons.

Marcus Rashford, at 10/1, impressed during his loan spell at Barcelona, scoring 14 goals and providing 14 assists in 49 appearances as Hansi Flick’s side claimed the La Liga title, though the Spanish club opted against making the deal permanent.

Julian Alvarez rounds out the list of targets at 12/1, having scored 20 goals and assisted nine more in 49 appearances for Atletico Madrid, with Real Madrid having already seen a reported €150 million bid for the 26-year-old striker firmly rejected.
