Arsenal supporters are loudly calling on the club to pursue Ayyoub Bouaddi after the teenage midfielder delivered a commanding World Cup performance against Scotland.
The 18-year-old Moroccan played the full 90 minutes as Morocco beat Scotland 1-0, controlling the midfield with remarkable composure and maturity throughout the match.
Bouaddi pulled the strings from the engine room in a well-oiled team display, demonstrating technical quality and game intelligence rarely seen at his age.
Commentator Ally McCoist was among those visibly impressed, making clear his admiration for the Lille star during his coverage of the match on Friday evening.
When McCoist said “I don’t mind him,” co-commentator Jon Champion replied: “Is that your way of saying you think highly of him?” before McCoist confirmed: “Very much so.”
Arsenal fans watching the action were quick to react on social media, urging new sporting director Andrea Berta to make a serious move for the midfielder ahead of the 2026/27 season.
One supporter wrote on X: “Ayyoub Bouaddi – sign him up Arsenal,” while another went further, posting: “I haven’t seen a single player take the ball away from Ayyoub Bouaddi. He’s so good. Oh my days. Arsenal need to be all over this boy. Get him on a plane immediately this World Cup is done.”
A third fan declared “I want Ayyoub Bouaddi in the Arsenal shirt,” as a fourth offered a more detailed assessment of the player’s credentials and growing reputation.
That supporter wrote: “How is Ayyoub Bouaddi only 18?! This Moroccan midfield maestro is ice-cold composure personified, bossing Ligue 1 for Lille, dominating vs Brazil with 92% pass accuracy and duel wins and now controlling the midfield against Scotland. 6’1′ box-to-box beast already linked to Real Madrid, Arsenal and more. Future Ballon d’Or contender?”
A fifth fan noted that “no Scotland player has been able to pass Ayyoub Bouaddi in this game,” adding that “Bouaddi is everywhere on the pitch,” while a sixth simply said: “Ayyoub Bouaddi is a special talent he is so confident on the ball and reads the game very well.”
Arsenal will face serious competition if they decide to pursue Bouaddi this summer, with Barcelona, Liverpool, Manchester United, Real Madrid, Juventus and PSG all among the interested parties.
A bidding war looks increasingly likely, with Bouaddi valued at a minimum of £70 million, meaning any club hoping to land him will need to make a significant financial commitment.
