Bradley Barcola has reportedly told Paris Saint-Germain he wants to leave the club this summer, handing both Arsenal and Liverpool a significant transfer boost.
The 23-year-old forward has been a key figure in PSG’s back-to-back Champions League triumphs, making his desire to move on a major talking point heading into the window.
According to talkSPORT, Barcola has formally indicated his wish to depart the Parc des Princes, placing both Premier League giants on high alert.
The France international made 49 appearances for PSG last season, contributing 13 goals across all competitions, including two strikes in the Champions League.
PSG are believed to value Barcola at approximately £60 million, and earlier reports this week suggested the Ligue 1 club would be willing to sanction his departure.
Barcola still has a contract running until the summer of 2028, meaning both player and club face a pivotal decision about his long-term future in the coming weeks.
Neither Arsenal nor Liverpool currently appears to hold a clear advantage in the race for the French winger’s signature.
PSG manager Luis Enrique had previously expressed a strong desire to keep Barcola at the club, making his reported transfer request all the more significant.
Enrique said: “Bradley Barcola’s future? I have no doubt he’ll remain our player. We like the fact that our players are interesting to other clubs. But he’s one of those young players we’ve been banking on. I expect him to play here for many more years.”
Arsenal are understood to be targeting attacking reinforcements this summer, with Bournemouth’s Eli Junior Kroupi and Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers both reportedly featuring on their shortlist.
For Liverpool, Barcola is not the only wide forward attracting attention, with RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande also regularly linked with a move to Anfield.
Liverpool’s recruitment drive takes on added significance as the club looks to build a squad for incoming manager Andoni Iraola, who took charge following Arne Slot’s departure earlier this month.
The race for Barcola’s signature looks set to be one of the defining transfer stories of the summer window as both clubs weigh up a potential £60 million investment.
