Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City have reached a basic agreement on a transfer fee for Brazilian winger Savinho, moving the deal close to completion.
The two Premier League clubs are in the final stages of negotiations, with only minor contractual details remaining before a full agreement is formalised.
Prominent Spurs insider SzyExcl broke the news on X, revealing that the core financial package between the clubs has essentially been settled.
“The fee for Savinho is basically agreed from what I’m told, it’s just sorting out add-ons,” SzyExcl reported, suggesting the transfer is edging closer by the day.
Manchester City had been demanding a figure in the region of £50 million to £60 million for the 22-year-old, and Spurs appear willing to meet that valuation.
Personal terms are not anticipated to be a stumbling block, with Savinho having reportedly shown interest in a move to North London as far back as last summer.
The winger was keen on the switch last summer before Pep Guardiola opted to retain him at the Etihad, but his desire to join Spurs has clearly not faded.
Savinho is set to become the marquee signing of Roberto De Zerbi’s extensive summer rebuild at the club if the remaining add-on structures are agreed.
The Italian manager is looking to add explosive flair and direct dribbling to his attacking options, a profile the Brazilian international fits perfectly.
Savinho made a major impression on European football during a sensational loan spell with Girona before earning his move to Manchester City.
Despite showcasing glimpses of serious potential at the Etihad, the winger saw limited consistent minutes under Guardiola last season and is eager to embrace a more prominent role.
His signing would represent a major statement of intent from Tottenham, a club desperate to move away from last season’s relegation scare and push back toward European contention.
Spurs have already been active in the market this summer, completing the free transfer signing of veteran left-back Andy Robertson ahead of the new campaign.
Defender Marco Senesi is also expected to arrive on a free transfer, while Brighton’s Jan Paul van Hecke has agreed personal terms with the club despite two bids being rejected so far.
The club’s hierarchy has clearly backed De Zerbi aggressively following a gruelling campaign that saw Spurs preserve their Premier League status only on the final day of the season.
