Clinton Morrison Tips Arsenal To Sign New Striker And Left Winger To Build On Premier League Title

Arsenal’s Premier League title triumph has raised expectations, with pundit Clinton Morrison believing the club must now strengthen their attacking options this summer.

Morrison, a former professional footballer turned pundit, has advised the Gunners to bring in reinforcements across the front line to maintain their position at the top of English football.

Speaking to TEAMtalk, Morrison was clear that Arsenal need quality additions in attack to ensure competition for places and continued improvement heading into next season.

The pundit specifically identified the striker and left-wing positions as areas where Mikel Arteta’s side could upgrade, pointing to potential departures that may leave gaps in the squad.

“They do need another striker to put pressure on Gyokeres and contend with [Kai] Havertz,” Morrison said, highlighting the need for genuine competition at the top of the pitch.

“They need an out-and-out quality striker. And they do need another left winger because they might lose a few players like Gabriel Jesus, who wants to go and play regular football,” he added.

Doubts over the futures of Gabriel Jesus, Gabriel Martinelli, and Leandro Trossard have added urgency to Arsenal’s planning, with several established names potentially on their way out of the Emirates Stadium.

Morrison also emphasised the importance of continued progress for a side that has now established itself as the benchmark in English football after their 2025/26 title win.

“They need to keep evolving and improving. I think Arsenal will strengthen again in the summer. I think they’ll be the team that everyone’s looking at as capable of dominating for a few years now,” Morrison said.

“It’s down to the other teams to put pressure on Arsenal. I know that’s not maybe how Arteta always wants to set his teams up, but I feel like they have to go to that next level and continue to evolve and progress,” he added.

On the transfer front, Julian Alvarez and Eli Junior Kroupi have been identified as striker targets high on Arsenal’s list of priorities for the summer window.

Out wide, Bradley Barcola has emerged as a potential option, with transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reporting that Arsenal are among the clubs keen on the PSG winger, alongside Liverpool.

Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers has also been listed as one of Arsenal’s attacking targets, according to BBC Sport, giving the club a range of options to consider as they look to reshape their front line.

Viktor Gyokeres and Kai Havertz are expected to remain central to Arteta’s plans, but the manager will be keen to ensure the squad around them is strong enough to challenge on all fronts.

Arsenal supporters will be hoping the club can act decisively in the coming weeks, with the prospect of Alvarez, Kroupi, Barcola, or Rogers arriving at the Emirates generating significant excitement ahead of the new campaign.
