Eli Junior Kroupi Dreams Of Paris Saint-Germain Move As Arsenal Plot Summer Pursuit

Arsenal have been linked with a move for Bournemouth forward Eli Junior Kroupi, who scored 13 Premier League goals during his first full season in English football.

The 2026 summer transfer window opens on June 15 and runs until September 1, giving clubs several weeks to complete their business before the deadline.

Kroupi reportedly dreams of a move to European champions Paris Saint-Germain, according to French publication Foot Mercato, complicating Arsenal’s potential pursuit of the forward.

Bournemouth finished the season on an impressive 18-game unbeaten streak, securing sixth place in the Premier League and European football for the first time in the club’s history.

Departing manager Andoni Iraola guided the South Coast side to the Europa League, finishing just three points behind fifth-placed Liverpool, who qualified for the Champions League.

Kroupi arrived at Bournemouth last January and has since established himself as one of the most exciting attacking talents in the Premier League following his breakthrough campaign.

Bournemouth are believed to value the forward at approximately £86million, with Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Chelsea and Manchester City also thought to be among the interested parties.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has identified a left winger, striker, right-back and midfielder as priority positions to strengthen during the upcoming summer window.

The Gunners’ interest in Kroupi forms part of a broader squad rebuild following their Champions League final disappointment, with attacking reinforcements considered a key objective.

Iraola, who is poised to take charge at Liverpool, spoke glowingly about Kroupi’s development earlier this year, offering Arsenal further encouragement about the forward’s potential.

Speaking in April, Iraola said: “I think Junior has been a big challenge for me this season, one of the biggest challenges because we noticed straightaway that he has special things. His finishing is top for me.”

The departing Bournemouth manager also highlighted the significant work Kroupi had put in beyond his natural goalscoring abilities throughout the course of the season.

“But we had to work a lot with him and, especially, he has had to do a lot of work that he wasn’t used to to win his minutes. He has become a much better player for me,” Iraola added.

Iraola also explained his deliberate decision to shift Kroupi’s focus away from goals and towards broader development during their time working together at the Vitality Stadium.

“I know he had a good start and scored goals but I try not to talk to him about goals because this is something which is natural and he will always have it. So, I have tried to make him focus on other parts and he has improved a lot.”
