Arsenal Men’s And Women’s Teams Join Mikel Arteta’s Premier League Title Parade Through North London

Hundreds of thousands of Arsenal supporters are expected to line the streets of north London to celebrate the club’s first Premier League title in 22 years.

The Champions Parade will feature both the men’s and women’s teams, with the club marking the Premier League title win and the FIFA Women’s Champions Cup success.

Mikel Arteta’s side fell short of a full double after losing on penalties to PSG on Saturday evening, with the game having ended 1-1 at the Puskas Arena in Budapest.

Kai Havertz’s early goal was cancelled out by Ousmane Dembele before the match went to a shootout, where Eberechi Eze and Gabriel both missed their spot-kicks.

Despite the Champions League heartbreak, Sunday’s parade is very much a celebration, with the open-top bus route stretching 5.6 miles through north London.

The procession is due to begin at 2pm and is expected to last approximately two hours, with as many as half-a-million supporters anticipated along the route.

Arsenal had been aiming for a historic double, which would have included a first Champions League trophy in the club’s 140-year history.

Arteta’s players departed their Hilton hotel in the Hungarian capital in the hours following Saturday’s crushing penalty shootout defeat.

The Arsenal manager vowed to use the Champions League setback as motivation, saying: “First of all, you have to go through that pain, digest it and turn it into fuel to improve and to reach a different level.”

Arteta added: “I will take a few days with my family and then I will start the process to review what we’ve done.”

He continued: “We will start to make some very important decisions if we want to reach another level. And we’re going to have to show that ambition because we are more than capable of doing it.”

Arteta concluded: “But it’s going to demand us to be very, very ambitious, very fast and very smart.”

The Premier League title parade comes just 18 hours after the Champions League final defeat, with supporters nevertheless turning out in enormous numbers to salute their champions.

Arsenal’s Premier League triumph ends a wait stretching back to 2004, marking a landmark moment for the club and its supporters across north London.
