The Oklahoma City Thunder will be without two key offensive players when they face San Antonio in Game 7 of the Western Conference Finals on Saturday.
Star wing Jalen Williams has been ruled out of the decisive contest due to left hamstring strain injury management ahead of the crucial clash.
Second-year guard Ajay Mitchell also remains sidelined, continuing to be held out with a right soleus strain affecting his calf.
Williams attempted a return in Game 6 against the Spurs on Thursday but was clearly hindered throughout his limited appearance on the court.
Head coach Mark Daigneault acknowledged Williams was struggling after the 25-year-old recorded one point, one assist, two turnovers and was minus-18 in just 10 minutes.
Williams first aggravated his left hamstring in Game 2 of the series against the Spurs before missing Games 3 through 5 of the Western Conference Finals.
A member of the All-NBA Third Team in 2024-25, Williams initially strained his hamstring in Game 2 of the first-round series against Phoenix, which Oklahoma City won 4-0.
He then missed the Thunder’s entire second-round sweep of the Lakers as a direct result of the ongoing hamstring injury.
Mitchell impressed against Los Angeles in the second round before straining his calf in Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals against San Antonio.
The 2024 second-round pick had a relatively slow start to the Western finals against the Spurs before the injury ended his participation in the series.
Oklahoma City went 1-1 against San Antonio without both Williams and Mitchell, losing Game 4 on the road before winning Game 5 at home.
The defending champion Thunder will host Game 7 in Oklahoma City, giving them home-court advantage despite their significant injury concerns heading into the series decider.
