RB Leipzig attacker Yan Diomande has spoken publicly about his ambitions for the first time, fuelling speculation over his future at the German club.
The 19-year-old has been heavily linked with a move away from Leipzig in recent months, with Liverpool among the clubs mentioned as potential destinations.
Diomande has now addressed the transfer talk directly, making clear he harbours ambitions of competing at the very highest level of the game.
Speaking to So Foot, the attacker said: “I’m not going to say Paris, Liverpool or Real (Madrid). But it would be a good idea to play for big clubs.”
He continued: “Everyone has ambitions and every day you want to go higher. So, it was Leganés, today I’m a Leipzig player.”
Diomande added: “I’m not going to hide my desires or my dreams. I want to play for a big club, of course.”
The candid admission will be viewed as a significant boost for clubs monitoring the teenager ahead of a potential summer transfer window move.
Liverpool have been tracking Diomande for quite some time, and his profile as a right-sided attacker brings pace and flair to any attack.
The Ivorian has delivered an impressive return of 13 goals and 10 assists this season, underlining his credentials as one of the most exciting young attackers in German football.
His technical attributes have also been highlighted as a strong fit for the demands of English football, should a move to the Premier League materialise.
Liverpool have previously signed multiple players from RB Leipzig, and the existing relationship between the two clubs could prove crucial in any potential negotiations.
The 19-year-old has been identified as a player who could develop into a long-term option for Liverpool, with the club potentially looking to groom him into a future star.
Whether Liverpool can agree a deal with the German club this summer remains to be seen, but Diomande’s comments will do little to dampen the growing speculation surrounding his future.
