Yurav Premlall just delivered one of the most dominant — and historic — performances the game has seen, capturing the 2026 Estrella Damm Catalunya Championship by 14 shots and setting a new record for the largest winning margin in DP World Tour history.
Following his historic win, Premlall reflected on his performance, saying, “I’ve worked so hard to get into this position, and it’s so rewarding to finally see the results of it.”
The foundation for his landmark victory, however, was laid a day earlier. Premlall’s incredible third-round 63 set a new course record and earned him a $50,000 Course Record prize (presented by Nexo). His round featured 10 birdies and one bogey, and it sent him into Sunday at 19-under-par, with closest challenger Stefano Mazzoli five shots behind.
From the start of the final round, it was clear Premlall was not going to let the field back into contention. He made four birdies in his first five holes, quickly stretching the margin and effectively securing his victory.
The defining moment came at the par-4 8th, where Premlall produced a miraculous chip-in birdie. As Premlall widened the gap, golf fans began drawing comparisons to Tiger Woods and his iconic 15-shot win at the 2000 U.S. Open at Pebble Beach. Woods’ 15-shot victory counts as a record for both the PGA Tour and DP World Tour.

Premlall extended his lead to 14 strokes with back-to-back birdies on the 12th and 13th holes, and all eyes turned to him. A bogey on 14 briefly reduced the margin to 13, but Premlall remained unshaken, responding with two steady pars.
Then came another moment of precision under control. Patient as ever, Premlall chipped in for birdie on the par-4 17th, restoring his lead to 14 strokes. A final birdie on the par-5 18th sealed a closing 63—matching the record-setting score he had shot the day before.
While Premlall came close, he didn’t break Tiger’s 15-shot record. Shaun Norris kept the margin to 14 shots with his final round 68 to finish 14-under.
However, Premlall still established two new records over the weekend: one for the largest winning margin at a non-major DP World Tour event and the course record at Real Club de Golf El Prat. A statement victory for the 22-year-old in his first DP World Tour win.
