Aston Villa FPL winners and losers from Gameweek 24 – well, not winners

Aston Villa took zero points from their Premier League fixture against Brentford on Sunday and owners of their players in FPL didn’t fare much better.

Villa supporters everywhere have suffered from a poor return from the boys in claret and blue in Fantasy Premier League Gameweek 24. It turns out not scoring many goals isn’t helpful for fantasy football enthusiasts.

Let’s check in with the weekend scores in the Premier League’s official FPL game and see which Villa boys stunk the place out the least.

Top Aston Villa FPL scorers in GW24

In a stinking week for Villa and any of us with Villa players in our FPL teams, there were no surprises when it came to their total returns for GW24.

Everybody who played against Brentford picked up two measly points, with three exceptions. Lamare Bogarde was the only starter to have to settle for a single point, while substitutes Leon Bailey and Harvey Elliott collected one each.

Elliott climbs to five points for the season in total courtesy of an unexpected appearance off the bench. He’s in 0.2% of FPL teams, but then Joe Guaci and Yasin Özcan are in 0.1% of them.

The wait for a second Villa player to break 100 total points goes on. Morgan Rogers remains the only player to hit that relatively modest milestone, with Matty Cash still three points away.

AVF FPL update GW24

There were some good scores in our AVF FPL league despite Villa’s lack of direct contribution. Rich Ludlow and Abdelrhman Gooda are now joint second behind league leader Gary James, who stays 42 points clear at the top.

The top scorer was Warren Torch, who climbs back into the top four with 81 points thanks to 20 from captain Bruno Fernandes and big hauls from the front three.

There’s no change between Lucy Smith, Graeme Vincent and Thabang Mokhele in the bottom three, but John Mortimer moves one point ahead of Richard Mortimer in the bottom five. I’m guessing that’s come up in a Whatsapp group or two.
