Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed that Yusuf Akhamrich has joined Bristol Rovers on loan for the remainder of the 2025/26 season.
The move makes Akhamrich the latest departure in an exceptionally busy January transfer window for the north London club.
The versatile left-sided player has been a regular feature for Spurs’ Under-21 side and was shortlisted for the Premier League 2 Player of the Month award in November 2024.
He has also been involved in first-team preparations this season, gaining valuable experience around the senior squad.
Akhamrich was named on the bench for matches against FC Copenhagen and Manchester United in November.
He was also an unused substitute during the recent Champions League victory over Borussia Dortmund.
Despite those opportunities, Spurs opted to send the youngster out on loan to secure regular senior football.
Speaking after completing the move, Akhamrich expressed excitement about the next step in his development.
“I’m buzzing to be at Bristol Rovers,” Akhamrich said.
“I can’t wait to get started. I’ve met all of the boys and I can’t wait to get out there and start playing.”
The defender highlighted early discussions with his new manager as a key factor behind the move.
“The conversations with the gaffer have gone smoothly. He’s a great guy and has a lovely style of play.”
“I love what he thinks of me, and I can’t wait to get playing under him.”
Akhamrich also made clear his ambition to contribute immediately at the League Two club.
“I want to help the team push on higher up the table, play a lot of games and give the fans some good moments to remember for a long time.”
Akhamrich’s departure represents the tenth transfer deal completed by Tottenham during the current window.
The most notable exit so far has been Brennan Johnson’s £35 million move to Crystal Palace.
Several other young players, including Kota Takai and Oliver Irow, have also left on loan.
Jamie Donley, Manor Solomon, Damola Ajayi and Yang Min-hyeok all returned to Spurs briefly before securing further temporary moves.
On the incoming side, Tottenham have strengthened with the signings of Conor Gallagher and Souza.
Gallagher arrived from Atletico Madrid in a deal worth around £35 million, signing a contract until 2031.
Souza joined from Santos following a £13 million agreement between the clubs.
Gallagher was unable to feature in the Champions League clash with Dortmund but made his debut against West Ham United.
“I’m so happy and excited to be here, taking the next step in my career at an amazing club,” Gallagher said after signing.
“I wanted to be a Spurs player and thankfully the club felt the same.”
“It was very easy, it happened very quickly and I’m ready to get on the pitch.”
“I know how great the fans are, I’m really happy to be a part of it here and want to create special moments and memories together.”
