The theme of Titleist’s 2026 golf ball launches: enhance the primary characteristics of its balls while preserving their authentic identities.
That rings true all the way down the lineup.

The new 2026 Tour Soft has been completely redesigned with a thicker elastomer cover and new dimple pattern to deliver higher peak height with mid-irons and longer distance and lower spin with the driver.
Titleist is always looking at what its players want out of the next ball, and while Tour Soft players choose the ball based on the soft feel, they told the Titleist team they could use more distance off the tee and more stopping power on the greens.
Without compromising Tour Soft’s signature feel, Titleist created a new cover and made the core slightly smaller to reduce spin off the tee.
“Our materials team found a unique blend of softening agents for the cover that helps us produce lower long-game spin with surprising short-game performance,” said Mike Madson, Titleist SVP of Golf Ball R&D. “When we talk about stopping power, the cover is actually a little bit softer than the prior generation. So even though we’re driving spin down in the long game to get more distance, we’re also getting a little bit more launch with the irons to increase descent angle.
“It’s a terrific material that we’re able to fine-tune performance with, and it’s built on the backbone of our manufacturing process.”
Aiding that higher launch is a new 386 quadrilateral dipyramid dimple pattern that is more consistent than the last generation, leading to more optimal flight.
Who it’s for: Golfers on a budget looking for the best combination of feel and distance with higher peak heights.
With Titleist’s Velocity golf ball, more distance was unlocked through softening the core of the ball to reduce spin and lower the trajectory.
To minimize the effect on ball speed from the softer core, the Inomer cover was reformulated to be firmer and drop spin further off the tee.
“Whenever you make compression go down, all things equal, that’s going to bring spin down in the long game,” Madson said. “We coupled that with a slightly firmer ionomer cover to add speed and further decrease spin in the long game. So you get that double shot of lower spin off the tee along with a faster cover, all contributing to more distance.”
To give Velocity players a distance boost, Velocity has a new 350 octahedral dimple design to lower ball flight and optimize total yardage.
Who it’s for: Slower-swing players looking for maximum speed and distance.
Titleist’s new Tour Soft and Velocity golf balls are available starting Jan. 21.
Tour Soft golf balls cost $39.99 per dozen, while Velocity golf balls cost $29.99 per dozen.
