Minjee Lee secured her 11th LPGA victory and 3rd women’s major by winning the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship in Frisco, Texas.
Sister to PGA Tour star Min Woo Lee, Minjee put a bag full of Callaway equipment to navigate the brutal test at Fields Ranch East, shooting a final round 74 to best Thailand’s Chanettee Wannasaen and American Auston Kim by three shots.
Known as one of the premier ball strikers on Tour, Lee used Callaway’s Elyte metal woods, 2024 X-Forged irons, Opus wedges, Odyssey Cruiser putter and Chrome Tour X golf ball to hit 68% of the fairways, 63% of the greens with a total of 113 putts.
Lee is one of the few LPGA and PGA Tour players in Callaway’s unreleased X-Forged irons. What makes the irons interesting is the modified sole vs other Callaway offerings, which, based on Tour feedback, provides optimal turf interaction with more bounce on the lead side, which, on the firm PGA Frisco surface, is essential.
