The Charles Schwab Challenge is being played a famed Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas, this week. It’s not a Signature Event, but it still has a hefty purse up for grabs.
The total purse for this week’s Charles Schwab Challenge is $9.5 million, with the winner taking home $1.71 million. Finishing close to the top of the leaderboard is lucrative too, with second place earning $1.035 million, and the top 22 players clearing six figures.
At Colonial, Rickie Fowler has an opportunity to make a statement
For Schmid, especially, Sunday could be a particularly significant payday. The 27-year-old German pro has never won on the PGA Tour, and his biggest check to date was in 2023, when he earned $448,500 for finishing third at the Butterfield Bermuda Championship. If he can finish solo fourth or better on Sunday, he’ll top that mark.
