The 2025 Augusta National Women’s Amateur gets underway Wednesday and Thursday at Champions Retreat Golf Club in Georgia before the competition heads to Augusta National on Saturday for the final round. Here’s everything you need to know to watch the 2025 ANWA.
This year marks the sixth edition of the popular Augusta National Women’s Amateur, which was first played in 2019. As in past tournaments, 72 elite amateur women golfers will compete across three rounds to determine the winner. Among them are 49 of the top 50 players in the Women’s Amateur Golf Rankings.
Lottie Woad of England took home the title at the 2024 Augusta National Women’s Amateur. But she won’t be the only ANWA winner in the field. Fellow past champions Anna Davis and Tsubasa Kajitani will attempt to thwart Woad to become the first two-time champion in history.
The 2025 Augusta National Women’s Amateur will be a 54-hole stroke play event. The first two rounds will be played at Champions Retreat Golf Club in Evans, Ga., on Wednesday, April 2, and Thursday, April 3. Following those rounds, the field will be cut to the top 30 players and ties.
Friday will feature a practice round at Augusta National for all competitors, whether or not they made the cut. Then on Saturday, April 5, the top 30 players will compete across 18 holes at Augusta National to determine the 2025 champion.
The winner of the Augusta National Women’s Amateur doesn’t receive any money, but she will earn access to several important tournaments.
Those tournaments include four of the five LPGA majors — the 2025 U.S. Women’s Open, 2025 Women’s Open, 2025 Evian Championship and 2025 Chevron Championship — and any USGA and R&A event they are eligible for over the next year. Provided they remain an amateur, the 2025 champion will also earn a spot in the next five Augusta National Women’s Amateurs.
