Despite the absence of Bukayo Saka for the clash against Brentford, Arsenal got three valuable points to maintain their charge for the Premier League title, following Liverpool’s decimation of West Ham. Despite an early scare from Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo, goals from Gabriel Jesus, Mikel Merino and Gabriel Martinelli handed the Gunners the victory over Brentford.
Without further ado, here are the player ratings.
David Raya – Should have done better for Mbeumo’s goal and almost had a slip up for a flapped save that went awry. (6)
Jurrien Timber – Played well at the right flank and picked up a card that would suspend him from the Brighton game this weekend. (7)
William Saliba – Did okay in the grand scale of things. (7)
Gabriel – Quelled the threat that Yoane Wissa posed. (7)
Riccardo Calafiori – Did well on his return from injury before getting subbed for Myles Lewis-Skelly. (7)
Thomas Partey – Was a defensive lynchpin and worked his magic in midfield. (8)
Martin Odegaard – Wasn’t as influential as we would have hoped. (6)
Mikel Merino – Was in the right place and the right time for an easy finish. (7)
Ethan Nwaneri – Was a surprise starter and did very well on the right flank. (7)
Gabriel Martinelli – Played very well on the left and took his goal well. (7)
Gabriel Jesus – Continue his good scoring streak with a well-taken goal. (7)
Myles Lewis-Skelly – Did very well on the left to continue his good form. (6)
Leandro Trossard – Didn’t do much with his time on the left flank. (6)
Declan Rice – Added some solidity to the midfield in his cameo. (7)
Jorginho and Oleksandr Zinchenko – Didn’t play long enough to get a rating.
