€5million goal machine wants to return to Arsenal in the future

Sturm Graz striker Mika Biereth spoke to Danish media for the first time since leaving Arsenal on a permanent deal this summer.

The 21-year old joined the Gunners in July 2021 as a teenager and immediately made an impact, scoring a hattrick against Chelsea U23s just over a month into his Arsenal career.

Biereth scored 21 goals for Fulham’s U18 side the season before he joined the Gunners. His reasoning for joining the North London club was because of their track record with developing talent:

“It feels great and I’m really excited to be here,” Mika told Arsenal.com. “It’s a once in a lifetime opportunity and I couldn’t really turn it down. I think now with the recent track record of youth going into the first team, I thought it was a great project to try and be a part of.”

Mika Biereth believes Arsenal return is on the cards in the near future

Despite failing to make a senior first team appearance in his three years at the club, the striker had decent loan spells at Motherwell and Sturm Graz, who eventually signed him on a permanent deal.

Biereth was speaking to Tv2 in Denmark, sharing his experiences and his plans for the future:

“Things are going well in Sturm Graz,” he said.

I have nothing to complain about right now. I play every week at a good level, and now we also play in the Champions League, where I’m still waiting for my first goal.

“If I keep playing well and scoring goals, hopefully a change can come, but right now I’m focused on Sturm and on doing well and scoring goals,

“A return back to Arsenal would be fantastic, but it’s not something I’m focusing on right now.”

The Austrian side signed the striker for around €4.7million which is believed to be their transfer record.

Austrian club delighted to have ‘powerful’ striker

Sturm Graz sporting director Andreas Schicker says the club fell in love with him after his loan spell.

“Mika is an absolute profile striker for our system, with power, depth and enormous goal danger. We never made a secret of the fact that we wanted to see Mika in Graz after his excellent performances in the spring. Therefore, we are extremely happy that we have now been able to implement this undertaking. In addition to the very good conversations with Arsenal, Mika’s clear commitment to the SK Sturm was decisive. We are extremely happy that he does not see his task at SK Sturm as finished and that he continues to see him in a Sturm dress.”

Biereth has seven goals in the Austrian Bundesliga this season and will not doubt fetch his new club a hefty profit in the future.
