Leandro Trossard was in scintillating form for Belgium in their 2-2 draw against Italy, in a game that also featured his Arsenal teammate, Riccardo Calafiori.
Andrea Cambiaso opened the scoring for the hosts from the get-go and when Mateo Retegui scored in the 24th minute, Italy looked to be coasting to a routine win but a red card from Lorenzo Pellegrini left a sour taste in the mouths of every Italian on and off the pitch, and Belgium latched onto the numerical advantage and made it work.
Trossard setup the goal for Maxim de Cuyper’s sumptuous curler and reacted very fast to prod home an effort in the near post, catching Gigi Donnarumma unaware. Trossard will be spurred by this performance and will be buzzing ahead of Belgium’s next match this weekend.
