Saka and Raya Nominated for EPL Player of the Month

Arsenal commenced the new Premier League campaign in fine form, dominating Wolves from pillar to post before putting up a gritty performance against Aston Villa that saw them get some much-needed revenge against Unai Emery for his transgressions last season.

The last match against Brighton didn’t go according to plan, as Arsenal actually ran Brighton ragged in the first 45 minutes and looked good for their 1-0 lead, but a Declan Rice red card turned the game on its head and handed the visitors a numerical advantage, which they took with both hands.

With three games played in August, it wad customary for the Premier League to provide the list of nominees for the Player of the Month award, recognizing the outstanding performers in the month, and offering the fans a chance to vote for them.

The Premier League Player of the Month nominees include Erling Haaland, Amadou Onana, Bryan Mbeumo, Cole Palmer, Mohamed Salah, ex-Gunner, Danny Welbeck, and Arsenal’s contingent, David Raya and Bukayo Saka.

Just reviewing this list, there is no doubt in my mind that the undisputed winner will be Haaland, following his monstrous hauls of seven goals in three games, which included a back to back hat-trick. However, it’s good to know that out of the 500 registered players in the Premier League, two amazing performers from Arsenal made the list.

I’m sure there would be more opportunities in the foreseeable future.

Sayonara.
